The Saluting Heroes Balloon Rally is a two-day community celebration honoring those who serve our country and communities—veterans, police, fire, EMS, and volunteers—through the awe-inspiring experience of hot air ballooning. Hosted at the Hodag Country Fest Grounds in Rhinelander, WI, this event will feature more than 20 hot air balloons, tethered rides, live music, art activities, food vendors, and the breathtaking Musical Balloon Glow, MC’d by Dave Kallaway.
This rally is presented in partnership with We Love Ballooning, a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring wonder and fostering community connection through inclusive and accessible hot air balloon experiences. With support from local organizations including Northwoods Veterans Homestead and Camp American Legion, the event serves as a tribute to service and a showcase of community spirit.
Visitors can enjoy interactive activities such as a walk-in balloon exhibit, meet-and-greets with pilots from across the country, family games, and live performances by regional bands. Artstart will host children’s art stations throughout the event. Food and merchandise vendors will be onsite offering a wide range of options.
